For molds I use chamber reduced to 12 litres from total 45 litres. For making molds it is enought. For casting I use pressure. These test casts were from smaller 1 liter chamber casted with 8 bar pressure.

45 Litres is enormous! Have you got a pic to share? Where did you get it from?

I take some photos, when I get home. It is custom build by heating technician. It is certified for 10 bars and it was tested for 20 bars.

Here is pressure chamber. It has rubber seal in lid and this lid holds in place with 12 massive bolts.
I use it now for creating molds in vacuum.

Hard core!
What do you use the refrigerator compressor for? I know they can be used as vacuum pumps but surely it pales in comparison to the actual vacuum pump on the right side of the image?

It is used for pressure casting on 1 liter chamber. It can make 8 bars in couple of seconds. Refrigerator compressor can make pressure about 15 bars and have flow 20-25 liters/min.
This black valve on chamber is safety valve for 8 bars.

Hmm, I've got a fridge compressor that I bought, but seems to be missing the necessary power hookup / capacitor bunch to get it started, any ideas what to do with it? Doorstop? Boat Anchor?

It depends on type of compressor. They can be from refrigerator or air-conditioner, there should be starting capacitor or relay. Try ask some electrician near.

I didn't think your standard refrigerator compressor had any staring requirements? Just hook up power and off it goes...
Post a pic Islacrusez and we can advise from there

Looks great Tom - I really like the changes you've made. Would fit in quite well with the FW marine escorts. I particularly like the prow launch bay style

I´m glad you like. Here is with basecoat and with rest of fleet for 750 points. They were all airbrushed via MrSurfacer first.

Roks and Asteroid Space Stations rarely look really good but you've done a fantastic job here! Good selection and placement of bits!
