Casting Resin in Metal?

Postby Silvertayl 57 » Sat Feb 07, 2015 4:08 pm

Hello Resin Addicts

I am new to the wonders resin and resin casting and I am still experimenting with different types of molds which led me to wonder if it's possible with the use of a release agent to cast resin in metal for example a metal baking tray or cake tin?

So before I go ahead and perhaps ruin a perfectly good baking tray I thought I would ask here at Resin Addict Forum. :|

Hope you addicts can help?

Resin will bond to metal really well! A release agent will work - any wax based spray, or even vaseline will do the job, but you want it to be applied pretty thick.

Being a barking tray, the edges of the tray should already be slightly tapered.

I wonder if a non-stick teflon coated tray would release acceptably?
Oh yeah I can make that....
