Epoxy resin layering

Postby Kvkpaula » Fri Dec 11, 2015 5:34 pm

Hi all. I'm new to the forum but have been making resin jewellery for about 6 months. I just started using a new resin and the strangest thing has happened! I embed items in resin so always do two layers (sometimes three). With this new resin however some of my second layers have not set properly. Usually I would just think I got the mix wrong but I did other layers in the same pour and they have set fine. Any ideas???!! I'm baffled.

Interesting. How thick are the layers? Are you embedding items in the resin - perhaps it could have interfered with the curing of the resin? If you leave it for an extended period does it cure fully?
Oh yeah I can make that....
