Encapsulating an acrylic print (UV Print or Screen Print)

Hi,

I was wondering if someone knows a successful way to encapsulate an acrylic print. I have used both UV printing and screen printing, and have tried to encapsulate it in order to protect the print from the outside (scratching, dust, etc), but in all my attempt the resin attacks the ink.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Can you perhaps spray on a water or alcohol based sealant first so that the resin doesn't damage the print?

I've done a wee bit with embedding photographs and ink drawings in epoxy and polyester resins - the standard 'crafters' solution is (as mangozac says) to seal the paper - most commonly used product is Mod Podge (white glue) but I imagine for something large a spray would be more economical and sensible.

Castin' Craft sealer spray is regularly touted as a magic bullet for... well, everything. But since I'm in the UK I've had to look for alternatives. When I asked on another forum, the suggestions were Krylon 1303 (unfortunately for me another US product, but may help you) or 'any other acrylic sealer/gloss/varnish/whatever'.

Follox and Mangozac,

Thanks a lot for the answer!! I will go ahead and find some of those products to see if it will solve my problem.

Something like this perhaps?

I use a similar product when making decals, has so many great properties that you don't get with cellulose spray varnishes.
