Hydrospan 100 Questions?

Postby clayorrnot » Tue Apr 05, 2016 3:46 am

Hey guys, been lurking for months and finally made an account!

Got a question about the use of Hydrospan if anyone has any experience or can point me to the right direction, that'd be great!

-Hydrospan 100 (expanding resin) has somewhat of a waxy finish when cured all the way and my concern is how to actually mount the expanded piece up once it's expanded? I normally use super glue and toothpicks to mount my pieces up but I'm hesitant about gluing anything to it. Any ideas on what you guys use? If anyone?

Thanks!

It depends what the shape is. By the use of toothpicks do you mean you use them to pin the resin part to something else? Pinning is the way I would go - use a plastic or metal tube if you need more strength.
Oh yeah I can make that....

Yeah to prop up the piece in the mold to create the pour spouts/air holes. I prop up the pieces and stick the toothpicks in the clay in order to make a 1 piece mold. My main concern is will the super glue react with the hydrospan in any way?
