How are large, clear tables made?

Postby Neurogirl900 » Sat Nov 19, 2016 3:17 am

I've seen some beautiful resin furniture for sale, and I've wondered how they make it. I have two particular examples in mind: the crystal clear (or translucent colored) slabs of resin, and the resin/wood hybrid. Are they using huge pressure chambers to get the perfectly clear finish?

I think these are epoxy resin. Careful mixing and pouring avoid introducing bubbles and long cure times allow any bubbles to leave, as they're not placed under vacuum or pressure.
I suggest finding people who have made these and asking them. I've seen a couple on YouTube.
