About Green Stuff..

Postby dark_gear » Sat Jan 30, 2010 9:32 am

I'm just curious, does Kneadatite have a shelf life after which it stops working as intended? It's about 18months old.

The reason I ask is that my current stock seems to have yellow granules left over even after I kneed the crap out of it for 10 minutes. And yes i do cut out the middle section where the 2 colours touch on the strip to get rid of the "activated area". ;)

IIRC it does have a shelf life. Mine is a few years old and is simply not useable for any detail anymore. I don't get the yellow granules like you speak of but it just doesn't work like it should.
Oh yeah I can make that....

Thanks for the info.

Hopefully it's just the one box. At the height of my modding I purchased 6 boxes of the stuff off ebay because it was so much cheaper than buying from GW at 9$for 6 inches. The downside is that if they're plagued with the yellow granule issue it means I have 18feet (yes, feet) of GS that I can only for terrain building...

Eh well.

I use it for bulking out as well and then (usually Milliput) over the top.

Speaking of Milliput, I've yet to find a store in Vancouver that carries any of it.

Typically I just get this look, you know, the one that makes you like you're a three-headed alien who just asked if they have 80w plasma rifles in stock. I can't even begin to describe the look I get when I ask for Mr. Surfacer...

I order the bulk of my hobby supplies online and/or from Japan these days. If you do a big order it works out cheaper (even with postage), plus they have all those exotic tools and materials that we love ;)

You can get milliput on ebay, and ocassionally hardware stores carry it as it can be used to repairing ceramics pipes and a bunch of other uses. I picked mine up at a crafts store (micheals) Granted that's from stores here in the US but you should be able to order it online fairly easy.
