Just wondering what is the grey resin figures always are? I though it was dye, but it so consistent among all the companies so i assume it mst be a particular resin?

A lot of the time it is dye - that's what mine is. And in fact if you actually properly measure out the pigment you should be able to get a pretty consistent colour.

I would guess that if you're using the quantities of resin the likes of Forge World use you would be able to order it pre-tinted.

I use a touch of black dye to tint the resin gray, it only takes very minute amounts so it goes a really long way. One or two drops can color 30+ ounces of resin, so I usually try and mix it into the brand new resin that way I have an entire bottle that'll be all one consistant color. If you do it in smaller batches you may get parts that vary in color on each cast.

Yeah I drop about a heaped teaspoon of grey pigment into a 5kg bottle of my part B resin. I do believe you shouldn't leave it sitting for too long with the mixed in pigment though.
