Shame... but I'm still curious about how you feel it will meet your intention of converting it to a 40k vehicle? Obviously it doesn't quite live up to its pricetag, and it requires way more work than it should - but do you still feel it will make a cool Arvus gunship or something?

And how much space is in the cockpit?

MJ I'm glad to see some pics (in fact I was just about to hassle you about it) but these are indeed a bit useless. Got a macro mode on the camera?

It sounds like the 3/5 is a bit generous. I always got the impression that those kind of garage kits would be high quality, being the pride and joy of some modeller/home caster. I don't understand why they would get overzealous removing the vents and such too - the resin modeller expects to have to remove them and everyone knows that when cutting off a vent you cut just out from the part and then sand flush.

The instructions and parts lists seem really poor too. Perhaps like mentioned above I'm just used to seeing the work of people taking more pride in the kit? It's those little details that really make the experience. Photographs for instructions are acceptable since it does take a lot of time to draw up line art (I know - I did it for the SAW instructions), but they should have some text and be laid out in a nicer fashion.

I wonder how much you'd get for it on eBay once 40k'd up?
Oh yeah I can make that....

It would be a decent 40k FAST vehicle about the size of a arvus. I imagine the Arvus as a slower ship due to its "bumblebee" look. This guy is about the same size but looks faster IMHO. More like a two person hell blade fighter, or an aquilla lander....

Now for the space..... Your looking at a two man crew back to back with 4 in of cockpit over a 5.5 in overall for the fuselage. your looking at about 1.75 in usable space for your guy in a reclined seating position. Plus you have the forward instruments clusters to set in over the legs. The scale is SLIGHTLY larger than catachans, being that the pilot is about 1.25 to not quite 1.5 times larger than the catachan sentinel pilot if you were to straighten out his legs to a "lazy boy recliner" pose.

overall it could make a OK 40k vehicle but it would fit into a fast gunship or maybe and escort type if you were to outfit it with lascannons or autocannons. maybe a vendetta without transport capacity or more likely a Vulture Gunship... but its just my opinion.

And Zac... I will get better pics.... Im just having trouble for some reason with my lighting I think. more pics will come and I will have my setup right before then which im hoping is later tonight....

3-5 is generous BUT it did get to me fast, all parts are here (from what I can tell!!) and it looks like I could pull this out to be kinda cool.... And how much from evilbay??? we shall see because im not too sure about holding on to this one.....

I think it is really cool of you to give the kit a chance and to share your experiences with us! I am still excited about its prospects, even though it requires more time/money than it should. One way to 'get back at' the guys for not going the extra mile with quality is to compile some of these posts into a kit review and share it with BoLS or a similar site- it would draw attention to teh kit, inform the community, and give the creators / dealers feedback at the same time.
