Mold with Inner Structure

Hello,

I am looking to cast a 3D print I will be making soon. It is a square shape with an inner cross shape. Think a cube with a hole in each side going all the way through to the other side. I am very green in molding and cannot quite determine the best way to make a cast of it.

I just don't see how to remove the model once cast because the cross shape locks it in.

Lots of things are printable but not cast able

Here is a link to two photos of the rough structure. http://imgur.com/a/vyaPH This will be most likely be a rubber like material. Poles will be inserted into the holes, so a 2 part mold that is glued would most likely not be strong enough.

Whilst that is castable, it would require a complex mould. I wouldn't even attempt it, personally.

would it be possible for you to print the piece in two halves, and then just fit them together after? That would be much easier to cast.

Get a sharp blade and bend the mold back once you cut to the square and run the blade through the connecting piece that locks it in. 1 clean cut and the piece should come back together and kit cause many issues casting. I have cast plenty of items that get locked into molds.

What type of mold are you considering for this? 1 part of 2 part mold?

Edit: I saw the second imag fleafa is 100% correct that would be a butch of a mold, the other guys idea of cutting it in half and making molds of that would be way easier.
