Thanks, I do appreciate the offer you made of up there for the dougram one and I had really thought about going that route. I just never got around to touching base with you and the old plastic one just keep calling for SOMETHING to be done. I figured I had nothing to lose by attempting the salvage. :)

I've been trying to get the lances built up so that I'll be ready to paint them and I won't need to spend a lot of time in between for prep so I've been trying to get one mech posed and ready in between painting projects. With the thunderbolt done, I decided to move on to the awesome since it required a bit more time being metal to repose. Anyway, after yesterday and today, here it all ready for basing material to be glued on and primer.

Update for the weekend. It took a bit of work, but I've gotten the next six mechs ready to go. Four of these are for myself and will be painted olive drab as a Eridani Light Horse lance and the other two are commission pieces of a crab and king crab.

On the rifleman, this was a pretty intensive repose... which looks great from every angle except full on left where the legs appear too close together. It doesn't look like there is anything I can do about it since it appears the thigh area on the Rifleman is too short to correctly separate the legs and I'm already at the max rotataion for the joint before it hits the hip. :(

I've never seen that Crab mech before. Certainly one of the more bizarre looking!

Is that Paulson's Rifleman?

Yeah the crab is an odd one. Not quite as odd as the King Crab. That thing is actually incapable of movement. I really don't know how it could move unless it hops along like a rabbit.

The rifleman is one that Paulson cast for me but not one of his new printed models. Those would probably be far easier to pose. :)

As part of the mechs I've been gifted, I had a couple of marauders. Now in theory the marauder is a really cool mech especially with the art you can find for it.... unfortunately as with most battletech models, the sculptors decided it would be cool to sculpt drunk or blindfolded. The end result is a mech who's arms are too long and posed to look like a full salvo from an LRM20 just smashed into it's gut.

I've been trying to fix that. So far one of the mechs are done and ready for GS but I'm pretty happy with the results and the second is really just waiting for the leg and feet positions get figured out now that the hard part with the arms is done.

Anyway here yo go. Since it's starting to get cold I'm spending a couple of weeks building and priming models for the winter so expect to see the rest of this lance the last clan star showing up something here for posing.

To get an idea of exactly what Vaaish means by the "salvo to the gut" comment check this out: . The reposing has done wonders - good work!

minor update. I've been slowly prepping models and I'm almost finished. Just a bit more to resculpt on a reaver titan and I'm good. anyway, part of what I've been readying are 9 of the 14 mechs left to paint. They are finally primed and ready to go when I get to them this winter. I'd do the last five but I'm a bit burned out on chopping up mechs, reposing them and sculpting. The clan star doesn't look it but there's been a considerable amount of work in cleaning the bits and fixing casting issues as well as reposing. The Dire Wolf had a lot of filling and sanding on the legs and the barrels on the arms replaced while the Nova had the PPC's fabricated and sculpted.

This IS lance is also pretty heavy on the conversions. Both marauders were chopped up and reposed to prevent their falling over backwards pose and fix the silly extended arms. The rifleman had almost every joint cut to repose and the warhammer had a heck of a time with the arms to get them to bend properly and look good in most of the viewing angles.

Those are looking good. The hip joints on the clan mechs are a friggin nightmare, I think the newer versions of the madcat fixed the hip joint a bit. I glued my fingers to the models multiple times putting together the older versions. I love the mech but absolutely hate putting it together.

The IS lance also looks great, the arms on the stock warhammer always just lay flat against it's chest the repose looks a lot better. Lots of work on the legs for both it and the rifleman but it's done so smoothly it'd be easy to miss if you didn't compair it to the original poses.

Looking good so far and can't wait to see the paint.
