BFG - ideas from internet

The GW news is no surprise at all, they are just following their usual strategy, which they have been doing since around 1990.
The staggered re-release of their secondary games comes around every few years. support for said games is either limited to a short window around "limited stock" releases or for a year or so after they come out, before being retired again.

I'm sure it's welcome news for fans of some of the games in question though

Well I love both Epic and BFG and I'm not so sure. Both games play great though there are a few rough edges and I'd rather not see an "updated" rule set that messes with either of them more than polishing the edges. The prospect of new models is a both nice and a little weird too. Honestly, for me, if it's anything Marine, IG, AMTL, Skitarii, Necron, Eldar, or Nid based I'm not really sure I'd bother unless the models are exceptional.

I half expect BFG to end up something like Dreadfleet with a play mat and a few ships for either side and the rules toned down. Epic is a bit more challenging so I figure we either won't see a box for it or the box will be a considerably smaller skirmish style game just replacing 28mm figure with 6mm.
