It depends on the style and how involved it is to make.
I make simple ballpoint click style pens that are far less than one like this.
I can post a pic of the ballpoint click style if you would like, to see the style.

How much would that blue one cost, it's pretty nice looking. A sweet tutorial on what you do and how you do it would be pretty keen as well. Unless of course you don't want to divulge trade secrets.

I too would like to know the vacuum/pressure technique you use to create these, if you're willing to divulge your secrets ;)
Oh yeah I can make that....

I don't use vacuum/pressure. I just pour it into the mold, de-mold about an hour later and let it fully cure for 24hrs.

What brand of resin do you use for the sleeves? Most of thr ones I've run across have a really long cure time. (upwards of 24hrs) I'd like to do some parts in clear material but need to find some stuff with a much more reasonable cure time.

I have machined it in as little as 3 hours or so but, it usually sits for 24 hours before I get to it. It gels in about an hour.
I use ETI polyester resin. If you need quicker cure times, take a look at urethane resins. Some have a pot life of 20 minutes and less. I think they still reccomend a 24 hour cure.

Hey plaztix - came to look for somewhere to post a couple of my finished items and after replying to you in thread just yesterday, your name popped out and I had to take a look - really glad I did too!

Beautiful bit of casting and some gorgeous work in that pen - well done that chap ',;~}~

Since I started on my journey I came across lots of penturners, their posts and tutorials, and well for decades I would have killed for a lathe anyway, but just a few months ago my wonderful father in law gave me an old Emco Unimat SL in stellar order - just big enough to help with some of my jewellery work, and to have a crack at picking up pen-turning - seemed only fair if I was to be making unique pen blanks that I knew how they needed to perform (already done knives from my handle materials/blanks).

So after almost 3 years of readiong lots of posts on Int. Ass. Penturners (I get my stabilising resin from Curtis/Mesquite Man one of the mods there too) I finally joined up short while ago - maybe I'll get good someday but either way, I'm sure to enjoy myself.

Again, congrats on the work - primo example bud. ',;~}~
