Noob question about Fast Cast resin

Hi Guys

im new to resin casting but im going to be starting casting retail products for my business soon

My questions is has anybody on here used Fast Cast from Easy Composites as found here http://www.easycomposites.co.uk/product ... resin.aspx
id like to know what the quality of the resin is like before committing to it, im going to be pressure casting the products and would like to know if it is suitable to use
Also the resin is sold by weight rather than volume, does anybody know how much volume in ml there is in a kg of the product?

The mixed density is 1.05-1.1 grams per cubic cm, so not far off water. Probably around 1.8 litres.
Looks similar to stuff I used from CFS. It will do the job, but cast parts won't be great to work with. Could also be really smelly. Good for scenery, I guess. Hell of a short pot life will make pulling a vacuum and applying pressure a rush.

so 1kg would be around 1.8 litres?

what would you suggest as good quality for models and busts? i know smooth on is regarded as the best but it seems really expensive to use

Whatever product you decide it's always best to buy the smallest quantity possible and do tests before committing to larger volumes.
