Postby mangozac » Tue Feb 01, 2011 6:58 am

Hi guys,

Just a heads up I'm auctioning off an unassembled Chapterhouse SAW kit (yes, as sculpted by me) for the 2011 Queensland flood victims charity auction over on WargamerAU.

You can see the auction with details and pics here: http://www.wargamerau.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=110729

I just wanted to let everyone know that our friend Munkey Joe saw this auction and kindly made a donation to the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal on behalf of the FAIL Gamers club. This goes to show the generosity of so many in the wargaming community and we appreciate their support!
Oh yeah I can make that....

Yeah, I'm in Southern Brisbane.
I live on a hill, so it'd need to be above 37 meters before the water got to me.

Sad thing was/is looking after (and still am) all the displaced Nursing Home residents and other elderly people, whos' homes were flooded and they have lost what little posessions that they owned, as well as their home. they are well, and shouldn't be in a hospital, but have nowhere to go until their homes are restored.

I spent the morning from 2am filling sandbags at a Council depot the night before the flood, and the next few days after the flood cleaning up the slop from strangers houses. There is still a lot of work to go.....

Yeah I noticed - doesn't seem to have had any detrimental effect though :P

I'm so impressed that I've added a free postage clause to see if I can't get it to raise more money!
Oh yeah I can make that....

EDIT
I have been welcome since day one, and If I can help friends or friends of friends Its worth any amount of money.

I have said this many times, and Joe your thoughts are seconded by many on this forum. Dave Taylor: http://davetaylorminiatures.blogspot.com/ . Has done similar things for friends of his who have had hard times or lost love ones etc, by selling armies of his or painting mini's etc. If fact Loken bought his Custodes army that was featured on the GW Website for quite some time.

Our community is generally filled with the right type of people, and when we 'band together' to help raise funds or give up our time etc, it just goes to prove there still are genuinely 'Good' people out there who want to help there fellow man/woman for not other reason than they can.
