SAFETY ALERT: Do NOT use Harbor Freight pressure pots

Postby mangozac » Mon Oct 07, 2013 8:40 am

This is a community safety announcement as we care about the well being of all Resin Addicts!

We've just had yet another Harbor Freight pressure pot fail on one of our members. Fortunately he escaped any injury, but I think this has cemented just how dangerous these pots are for pressure casting. In all cases the failure can be put down to poor quality.

For those of you living in the US we highly recommend the C.A. Technologies 51-201C C.A. Technologies Resin (Mold) Casting Pot (http://www.finishsystems.com/resincastingpressurepots.html), which is a high quality unit and requires zero modification for casting.

Remember that working with pressure and vacuum can be dangerous, so please everyone be safe! Never exceed the maximum pressure rating of the pot you are using.
Oh yeah I can make that....
